Emergency Housing Voucher (EHV) Program
STATUS: NOT ACCEPTING REFERRAL
As part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, Memphis Housing Authority (MHA) was awarded 190 Emergency Housing Vouchers (EHVs). The EHVs were provided to help assist individuals and families in the following categories (1) homeless, (2) at risk of homelessness, (3) fleeing, or attempting to flee, domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, or human trafficking, or (4) recently homeless and for whom providing rental assistance will prevent the family’s homelessness or having high risk of housing instability.

Mainstream Voucher Program
STATUS: OPEN
The Mainstream Vouchers for non-elderly (younger than 62 years old) persons with disabilities are available for individuals transitioning out of our permanent supportive housing (PSH) funded programs. If you receive PSH funds and you have an individual or family who expressed interest in moving on to other subsidized housing then please review the forms below for more information on how to apply.
Mainstream vouchers are also available for individuals who can meet the above eligibility requirements who are not currently in a PSH funded program. Please contact andrea@cafth.org to get more information.

Family Unification Program (FUP)
STATUS: NOT ACCEPTING REFERRALS
The Family Unification Program is administered as part of the federal government’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program, and can be provided to youth between ages 18 and 24 who have: left foster care at age 16 or older or will leave foster care within 90 days and are either are homeless or at are at risk of homelessness. Foster Youth Initiative (FYI)
STATUS: NOT ACCEPTING REFERRALS
The Foster Youth to Independence (FYI) initiative makes Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) assistance available to Public Housing Agencies (PHAs) in partnership with Public Child Welfare Agencies (PCWAs). Under FYI, PHAs provide housing assistance on behalf of:
Youth at least 18 years and not more than 24 years of age (have not reached their 25th birthday) who left foster care, or will leave foster care within 90 days, in accordance with a transition plan described in Section 475(5)(H) of the Social Security Act, and are homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless at age 16 or older.
