Memphis and Shelby County Homeless Consortium

Leadership, services, advocacy, and information

The Consortium has active members from many different sectors across Memphis and Shelby County including housing and service providers, local government, churches and faith-based organizations, mental health organizations, affordable housing developers, educational systems, medical providers, and advocates. The Consortium meets quarterly, and has several open committees and working groups that meet regularly and focus on specific populations or services provided by member agencies.

The Consortium serves as the TN-501: Memphis/Shelby County Continuum of Care (CoC), designated by HUD as the group organized to carry out the responsibilities prescribed in the HEARTH Act for a defined geographic area.

Mission of the Consortium?

The mission of the Consortium is to develop, sustain and coordinate a comprehensive Continuum of Care for citizens of the City of Memphis and Shelby County who experience homelessness in order to establish pathways to self-sufficiency and ultimately to eliminate homelessness.

Voice

Membership in the Consortium gives you the platform to let your voice be heard while working with a committed body of advocates, service providers, activists, government officials, and others.

Opportunity

Membership and attendance at Consortium and committee meetings provides an opportunity to meet and network with other agencies and individuals committed to systemic changes necessary to prevent and end homelessness in Memphis and Shelby County.

Vote

Each member (association or individual) of the Consortium has a vote on important community matters, including approving representatives on the Governing Council and Rank & Review Committee, which makes funding decisions for several programs related to the Consortium’s work.
